The Waiohinu Cultural Center exists to help students pursue a college education when cost or circumstance might otherwise stand in the way. We believe education changes lives, especially in fields like engineering, science, mathematics, and medicine—areas that shape the future but are often the hardest to access. Our goal is simple: to support students with the encouragement and resources they need to reach their full potential.
Our work is grounded in community and place. The Cultural Center is basedon a working farm that also hosts a Hawaiian immersion school, honoring both education and culture as living, everyday practices. To help sustain our programs, Jade’s Waiohinu Coffee was launched 2024 and is being grown as a secondary source of income to support the Center’s mission.
This effort is guided by the spirit of Jade Stice, a board member whose dedication took her across the world and back to Waiohinu time and again. Her love for education, the arts, and this community continues to shape the work we do. We carry this mission forward in her memory and for her children—Jet, Georgia, and Tiger—as well as for every student striving toward opportunity through education.
